Tonight’s Takeaways: Hat Tricks Unable To Pull Through Despite Late Comeback

Jan 25, 2025

Danbury, CT | Patrick Frenette

Danbury did not quite have the outing they hoped for as they took their third loss to New Jersey of the season. A two-goal effort from Kai Elkie and goals from Niko and Lukko would be the highlights of the night for Danbury. Two of those goals coming on the man advantage.

Niko Gets One Step Closer

Niko is now one goal and one assist away from breaking the single-season records in the respective categories. The UNH commit would net his 25th goal of the year in the second frame on the power play, and pick up an assist on Kai’s second goal of the contest. He is also the first Hat Trick to cross the 50-point mark in a season for the first time in franchise history.

Danbury Converts on The Power Play

In the past two meetings against New Jersey, Danbury has had bad luck on the man advantage going 0/4 in that span. Tonight’s first two goals were scored on the power play, which is something the Hat Tricks have been getting progressively better in.
