The Hat Tricks were buzzin’ tonight as they beat the Rebels for the second time this season following a 7-3 victory. The win would feature six different goal scorers and a first NAHL win for Hat Tricks affiliate goaltender John Reburn. The win also puts some energy in our favor as we host the Rebels tomorrow afternoon.
Niko One Away from Taking All-Time Goals Record
Niko Tournas had himself a night, scoring the first and last goals of the night in top-shelf fashion. Niko is now tied with Gabe Dombrowski (’20-’22) for all-time goals at 37. Niko has also tied this record with 48 games to spare, as Dombrowski had this record following 101 career games.
A Couple of Firsts
Tonight’s win was a very big win for Danbury, as they continue to add on to the newly set all-time wins record. However, rookie defenseman Jack Harney would score his first NAHL goal. The 6’9″ d-man only had three assists heading into tonight’s contest and his goal would give Danbury their first lead of the contest. The other first came after 60 minutes, with goaltender John Reburn earning his first NAHL win after making 27 saves on 30 shots for a .900 save percentage.
Fourth Comeback Win of the Season
Danbury has not had the best track record when heading into the final frame while trailing. The overall record when trailing after two was 3-28-1-0 heading into tonight’s contest. Ironically, we would add our fourth comeback win on 3/28/25.
