Nov 26, 2021

ODENTON, MD – Goals were on sale for the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (6-13-3) on Friday night in their 7-4 win over the Maryland Black Bears (14-6-1-2).

Gabe Dombrowski embraced his team’s name with a hat trick, scoring once in each period. Dombrowksi leads the Hat Tricks with 11 goals and 22 points so far this season.

Mike Salandra assisted on two of Dombrowski’s goals, adding a third on Jazz Krivtsov’s (5) third-period goal. Kritsov recorded his fourth assist of the season on Dombrowski’s first goal.

The top trio of Dombrowski, Krivtsov and Salandra recorded eight points in Friday’s win, continuing a hot stretch of offense for Danbury. Each of those three players recorded multiple points. The Jr. Hat Tricks have won three of their last four games, scoring 21 goals in those four contests.

“We’ve started to really find our identity here as of late,” said head coach Billy McCreary. “We are a young group and the adversity we have gone through up to this point is making us a very hungry team.”

“To the players’ credit, they bring the energy and willingness to learn everyday and they are starting to see some results,” McCreary added. “Still a long way to go, but we took another step in the right direction tonight.”

Richard Davis joined the scoring on Friday, netting his first goal in a Hat Tricks’ uniform, while Peter Lychnikoff (4) scored for the second straight game.

Josh Seeley made several crucial saves early in the game to maintain Danbury’s lead when Maryland dominated puck-possession. Seeley ended the night with 43 saves between the pipes.

The Hat Tricks face off with the Black Bears again on Saturday night, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. back in the Piney Orchard Ice Arena.
