HAT TRICKS WELCOME MARYLAND FOR TWO GAME SET

Oct 29, 2021

DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks play host to the Maryland Black Bears on Friday and Saturday afternoon for what is sure to be a competitive series. Both games will take place before the Federal Prospects League games at Danbury Ice Arena.

In the Hat Tricks inaugural season last year, they fared well against the Black Bears, amassing a 7-3 record. Danbury also had a lot of luck playing Maryland at home, going 3-1 inside the confines of Danbury Ice Arena.

So far this season Maryland has been dominant. The Black Bears sit atop the NAHL Eastern Division boasting a 10-4-1-1 record. Maryland earned a playoff berth last year after posting a 25-21-6-2 record.

Both Danbury and Maryland are coming off of 1-1 weekends against Johnstown and Northeast respectively.

“We have made a couple tweaks in our roster, and brought some fresh guys in,” said Hat Tricks head coach Billy McCreary. “Now it is a matter of we can go out and get the job done”

The Hat Tricks are looking forward to the return of two crucial players into the lineup this weekend as well. Adam Shuchart and Robert Hyde will return to the lineups giving Billy McCreary an added jolt against the Black Bears this weekend.

Shuchart, who sustained an injury against Maine earlier this year, will return to a roll on the defensive side of the puck. Robert Hyde looks to solidify a roll up front after supplying a ton of grit for the Hat Tricks in 29 games last year.

“Hyde has a lot of offensive upside, which we have been lacking a bit as of late,” continued McCreary. “Shuchart has been here for a full year and getting his leadership back into the lineup should benefit us greatly.”

Both Friday and Saturday feature afternoon starts. Puck drop on Friday is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. You can gain entry to both games by showing your ticket to the Federal Hockey League games Friday and Saturday nights.
