Oct 21, 2022

Lewiston, ME- The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks ended their 12-game losing streak against the Maine Nordiques, emerging from the Colisee with a 2-1 final margin.

Ryan Johnson (’04) scored his first goal of the season on a power play following a Laurent Trepanier holding infraction. Luka Sukovic (’03) recorded his team-leading fourth assist.

Maine notched the equalizer in the second period. Only 38 seconds in, Anthony Achille did the honors to tie the game.

The Nordiques outshot the Hat Tricks 10-3 in the second and 10-4 in the third, but Patriks Berzins (’03) stopped 26 of 27 shots faced for the game, and kept the Hat Tricks in the game long enough for the offense to figure out the Maine defense. Logan Furstenau (’02) did the honors, punching home his third goal of the season off assists from Chase Sandhu (’03) and Sean Matthews (’03). The Hat Tricks held on and earned a deserved win against the Nordiques.

The Hat Tricks and Nordiques rematch on Saturday night to complete the weekend series. Puck drops at 7PM in Lewiston on October 21st. The game can be seen on Hockey TV.
