Hat Tricks Secure Three Points in Weekend Series Against New Hampshire

Oct 8, 2023

DANBURY, CT — The Danbury Hat Tricks earned three points in their second series against the New Hampshire Mountain Kings this season. The team returned home for the two-game set after playing eight games away from Danbury Arena. A 4-3 win on Friday and a 2-1 overtime loss on Saturday gives them 8 points on the season through 12 games.

Friday night was a back-and-forth contest with at least two goals scored in each period. Danbury opened the scoring with an early goal from Alexander Strempel and another one in the second half of the period by Anthony White. New Hampshire evened it up with two power play goals late in the second period. But a goal by Griffin Zaske early in the third, and an impressive individual effort by Emerson Molas on the team’s fourth goal, gave the Hat Tricks the victory when New Hampshire could only muster one goal in the third.

It was a standout performance for goaltender Miles Roberts, who made 37 saves on 40 shots.

Game two took on a similar complexion, with New Hampshire outshooting Danbury 42-16, but it took a while for either team to find the back of the net. Alternate captain Logan Nickerson opened the scoring on a partial breakaway with less than a minute remaining in the second period. The Mountain Kings evened the game with a 5-on-3 goal in the third period, and defenseman Josh Doolan scored in the 3-on-3 to give New Hampshire the extra point.

The Hat Tricks are back on the road next week in Attleboro, Massachusetts against the Northeast Generals.
