Hat Tricks hit the road to open October in Elmira

Oct 2, 2026

The Danbury Hat Tricks are back on the East Coast and return to divisional play as they play their first true road games of the season, a two-game set in Elmira against the Aviators.

Last time out:

Danbury (2-5-0-0) is coming off a 1-2 week at the NAHL showcase, falling to Grand Junction and Minot, while defeating Wisconsin 7-3 on Thursday.

Elmira (2-4-0-1) went 0-3 in Blaine, falling to Minot, Corpus Christi, and Odessa, the latter of which went to a 14-round shootout.

Danbury and Elmira split a series on September 11th and 12th, in Danbury to open the Regular Season.

Previewing the Hat Tricks:

It’s the first in-division road trip of the season for Danbury, as they bring in a few new pieces this weekend in Elmira. But, the Hat Tricks will continue to rely on their top line.

Tristan Konobelj, Brent Beswick, and Gus Rabe have contributed a majority of Danbury’s offense this season and will be key to success this weekend in Elmira for the Hat Tricks. Danbury will also need secondary scoring as well.

On the back end, keep an eye on Payton Tracy, who has been on Danbury’s top pair for most of this season.

Gus Rabe, as mentioned before, has brought a lot of offense, and he caught the eye of many scouts last week in Blaine.

Previewing the Aviators:

When you talk about the Aviators, it’s hard to not mention Matt Maglio as a guy to watch. After a slow weekend in Danbury to open the season with just two assists, Elmira’s All-Time leader in every offensive category earned Top Star honors in the Division the following week, and has scored three goals and seven assists in the time since playing the Hat Tricks.

In goal, it will most likely be the tandem of JD Low and Jake Shingles again. Shingles stonewalled the Hat Tricks in that second game on Sept. 12.

Elmira will also feed off the home-ice momentum as it is the first two home games for the Aviators this season, and the Hat Tricks will have to quiet the rowdy crowd in Elmira.

Both games are at 7:00 PM from the LeCom Events Center in Elmira. You can watch all the action on NAHLTV.
