Danbury is coming home with their first win in the month of February, following an overtime winner from Emerson Molas.

The Hat Tricks played in New Jersey on Wednesday night, following a postponement from what was supposed to be a Tuesday night game. In the opening frame, both goalies were stopping every shot that came their way. This included Thomas Kieswetter stopping all twelve shots from the Titans. At 15:09 into the first period, forward, Jack Wuertz, scored on a breakaway goal to give the Hat Tricks their first lead of the night. The second frame saw New Jersey forward, Nikita Meshcheryakov, score on their own power play to tie the game up at 1. The Hat Tricks were then given three straight power play opportunities, which included two 5 on 3’s. Danbury defenseman, Noah Ziskie, scored on the last 5 on 3 for the Hat Tricks. Which gave them the lead heading into the final frame.

The final twenty minutes saw goaltenders Zak Brice and Kieswetter battle it out. Kieswetter would not be able to stop Titans forward, Jack Hillier, who tied the game at 2. Overtime would soon ensue, however it ended very quickly. Hat Tricks forward, Grant Dietz, would setup a pass to fellow Danbury forward, Emerson Molas, who would go top shelf on a breakaway. Danbury walked away with the 3-2 overtime win, 30 seconds into the five minute overtime period.

The Hat Tricks are back in action at the Danbury Ice Arena this weekend, when they take on the Philadelphia Rebels in a two game series. The first game is on Friday the 16th at 7:30 p.m. on NAHLTV.
