HAT TRICKS DROP GAME 2 IN ATTLEBORO

Jan 8, 2022

ATTLEBORO, MA – The Danbury Hat Tricks took on the Northeast Generals for the second straight day on Saturday. The Hat Tricks went down 2-0 early in the second and could not recover, eventually falling 4-1.

The first period opened similarly to the game last night when the Generals scored only six minutes into the game in a tough situation.

Kyle Shroeder came speeding down the ice and barreled right into Hat Tricks goaltender Josh Seeley. The rebound was cleaned up by Matt Boczar (4) and the Hat Tricks went down 1-0.

The second period would open even worse for the Hat Tricks. Tyler DesRochers (3) took a pass from Paul Minnehan and made it 2-0 on the power-play, only 39 seconds into the middle frame.

The Hat Tricks would answer with their own power-play goal. After a sustained time in the Northeast zone, Gabe Dombrowski scored his team-leading 13th goal on a cross-ice one-timer to make it 2-1.

Danbury had a ton of power-play chances to open up the third period but could not capitalize and tie the game. Northeast eventually broke through and netted a shorthanded goal to extend their lead to two goals at the 10:09 mark of the third.

Northeast would tack on an empty netter to give them a 4-1 victory.

Danbury and Northeast will play one more game tomorrow, as both teams will fight for a series win at 4 p.m.
