Ferguson makes Franchise Record 60 Saves, Hat Tricks defeat Generals 5-2

Oct 31, 2026

It was a historic day at the Danbury Ice Arena, as the Hat Tricks returned to action, facing off with the Northeast Generals for the third time this season. Goaltender Ty Ferguson made franchise history, as he made a record 60 saves in the victory.

Ferguson manned the crease for the second straight game, while it was Keagin Wilson for the Generals.

Danbury got the party started as Simon Wang streaked down the right wing, where he was able to find Nick Petkovich cutting to the front of the net, tipping one by Wilson to give Danbury an early 1-0 lead. Ferguson shut down all shots he saw in the first, as Danbury went into the intermission with a 1-0 lead.

The Gens responded to start the second, and Nate Porter tied it up at one. But the Hat Tricks immediately responded five minutes later; Liam Storch found Tucker Mears in front. Mears tried to find a teammate on the back post, but it hit a Generals skate and bounced in the goal to give Danbury the lead back. Logan Poulin tied it back up at two before the end of the period.

The Hat Tricks had Gus Rabe return to the lineup, reuniting him with Brent Beswick and Tristan Konobelj. The three of them connected for the third goal, Konobelj’s fifth of the season to make it 3-2.

And then Deimantas Sulinskas caught the Generals napping as he slipped one by Wilson as Northeast thought the play was stopped.

Ferguson continued to shut the door as Northeast pushed and pushed. Joey Krausfeldt iced with an empty netter, and the Hat Tricks now have points in their last five and all but two games in the Month of October.

Ferguson’s 60 saves are a Franchise Record for most in a single game, surpassing Karlis Mezargs’ mark of 53 set on February 2, 2023 against New Jersey.

Wilson made 25 saves, while both teams went 0/4 on their respective power plays.

The two teams will rematch on Saturday at the Canton Ice House, with puck drop set for 7:00 PM.
