Tale of the Tape
Danbury is 4-1-1 against the Northeast Generals this season. This weekend’s two game series in Attleboro will be followed with another two game set next weekend at Danbury Arena.
Danbury dropped two of three to the Maine Nordiques last weekend, but are looking to ride the momentum they built from Sunday’s physical 4-3 win.
The Jr. Hat Tricks trail the Maryland Black Bears by three points with 17 games remaining on their schedule. The Generals, tied with Danbury, have 14 games remaining. Maryland has 13 games left on their schedule, as the Black Bears play a two-game set with the New Jersey Titans this weekend.
Players to Watch
Jason Kleinhans, F (DHT)- Kleinhans, who recently committed to Air Force Academy, performed exceedingly well in Danbury’s most recent three game series against the Maine Nordiques. The 20-year-old winger notched two goals and two assists, including the game-winning powerplay goal in Sunday’s 4-3 victory.
Joshua Burke, D (DHT)- Burke played a terrific weekend of hockey when his team needed him most last weekend. Shorthanded on defense for most of the weekend with a myriad of injuries, Burke remained a constant in his own end and contributed a goal and three assists along the way. The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the more dependable options on the Jr. Hat Tricks’ back end.
Liam McCanney, F (NTE)- McCanney scored the overtime game winner in Northeast’s last game against the Black Bears on Saturday, snapping a seven-game goalless drought. The Generals have clawed their way back into playoff contention, and will need more from McCanney to get over the hump. He has a goal and four assists in six games against Danbury this season.
