14 HAT TRICKS REGISTER POINTS IN 9-4 VICTORY

Dec 31, 2021

LEWISTON, ME – The Danbury Hat Tricks of the NAHL opened up the second half of their season on Friday evening in Maine. The game ended up being the Hat Tricks best offensive game of the season, eventually winning 9-4.

The Hat Tricks had only played the Nordiques twice this season, when they were swept in a series back in October.

The game on Friday opened up with a quick goal from Boris Skalos (5) who buried a shot on a wide-open net after a pass from Ryan Johnson, who got his second point in two games in the NAHL.

The second period would start out 1-0 Hat Tricks, and the frame would end with a 6-3 score in the Hat Tricks favor. There were eight goals scored in the period and five for the Hat Tricks, both of which are season highs for Danbury.

The five goal scorers for Danbury in that second period were Hyde (4), Andersons (2), Burke (3), and two from Krivtsov (7, 8).

The third period would see Danbury tack on three more goals from Skalos (6), Harrington (5), and Krivtsov (9) who completed the Hat Trick and gave the Hat Tricks their 9th and final goal of the game.

When it was all said and done 14 Hat Tricks registered points, led by Jazz Krivtsov (3G) and Boris Skalos (2G+1A) who tallied three points apiece. Burke, Lychnikoff, and McCurdy all registered multiple points as well.

Josh Seeley was outstanding in net throughout the game for Danbury, registering 46 saves on 50 shots for the game.

Once the game was out of reach, the third period devolved into brawls and extra-curricular fights. There were 136 penalty minutes given out in the third period alone including fighting majors assessed to Robert Hyde, Marian Haborak, and Hunter Young.

The two teams will battle again tomorrow at 7 p.m. for a New Year’s Day tilt. You can follow along with that one on the Hat Tricks Social Media channels or watch the game live on HockeyTV.
